Book launch & Stitch`n`Bitch with Leanne Prain - Free Pattern download

Join Leanne Prain (co-author of Yarn Bombing: The Art of Crochet and Knit Graffiti) Sunday, October 2, at 2:00pm at McNally Robinson for a book launch and stitch and bitch.

Leanne, along with Winnipeg contributor and fibre artist Takashi Iwasaki, will be celebrating the launch of her new book Hoopla: The Art of Unexpected Embroidery which profiles the world`s most provocative embroidery artists and includes 28 patterns for readers to create.

The event includes a visual talk about subversive embroidery and yarn bombing, as well as a book signing and stitch ‘n’ bitch. Bring your projects/crewel intentions and get down to the knitty-gritty with Leanne following the talk and book signing.  The event will also include a door prize draw of embroidery schwag from floss sponsor DMC.

They are offering a free pattern from the book - the Home Invasion project which involves stitching insect intruders onto already embroidered linens in the home—place mats, table cloths, pillow cases, etc.

I've begun making cutting files! The file sets are available for immediate download at Winnipeg Crafts.

The first is a printable set of Halloween Tag Boxes. Lots of fun for Halloween treats.

The second is a set of cutting files - a complete alphabet for Monograming in vinyl or paper. You will need software such as Sure Cuts A Lot or Silhouette Studio. The set comes with JPG, SVG and Studio files.
